Robert J. Holzhauer, MD

Dr. Robert J. Holzhauer was the first board-certified allergist in San Luis Obispo County when he came here in 1978. In 1992, Dr. Holzhauer returned to Rochester, NY, where he had trained in pediatrics and allergy. He joined 2 of his professors in practice, participated in many clinical research studies and served as Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.

“I am happy to be spending as much time as I needs to help solve patients’ sometimes challenging allergy problems, allowing them to more fully enjoy the Central Coast of California, our little slice of heaven.”

On a personal level, Dr. Holzhauer and his wife and are thrilled to live across the street from the trailhead to Bishop’s Peak. They share 6 grown kids and 7 grandchildren. Dr. Holzhauer enjoys playing golf, bicycling, and hiking up Bishop’s Peak with their 2 Schnauzers. He also sings with the SLO Vocal Arts Ensemble.
