Rick Shapiro, a Chicago native, joined the practice in 2003 as a Physician Assistant. He was born in Park Ridge at Lutheran General Hospital where he is now on staff and raised in the Northwest suburbs. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, he completed his Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove.
His interest in Allergy and Immunology stems from his own experiences as growing up with asthma and allergies as a child. His philosophy is to work with patients and their families in creating an effective and practical treatment regimen. He strongly believes that education and open communication between patients and providers leads to better health outcomes.
In his personal time, Rick enjoys golf, tennis, and spending time with his family. He lives in Grayslake with his wife and three children.
