Ami Hannam, MD

Dr. Hannam was inspired to become a physician specializing in allergy and immunology after witnessing multiple family members struggle with allergy symptoms during her youth. Knowing the impact it had on their lives reinforced her commitment to listening carefully to each patient and working with them to develop a treatment plan that helps relieve their suffering and get them back to the things they enjoy most.

She appreciates that this specialty allows her to work with both children and adults. She believes that each deserves expert, evidence-based care and a beneficial path forward. She finds guiding patients on their journey to a better state of wellness to be extremely rewarding.

Dr. Hannam was born in Ohio and raised in Illinois and Maryland before returning to the Midwest for college at Loyola University Chicago. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and completed her residency in internal medicine at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she also served as a chief resident. She then underwent fellowship training in allergy and immunology at Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Hannam has been helping patients of all ages overcome health challenges in the Chicago area since 2010.

She is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hannam is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.

Outside of the office, Dr. Hannam is passionate about her family and being a mom to two amazing kids. She currently serves on the board of the parent-teacher organization at her children’s school and, along with her husband, actively supports their involvement in a variety of scouting, church, and athletic activities. She enjoys scrapbooking, the Chicago Cubs, and travel—especially to her family’s favorite destination: Door County, Wisconsin.
