Dr. Johnstone has been living in the upstate area for over 35 years. Dr. Johnstone, his wife, and three children (two of which are in college) enjoy this area and its residents.
“My initial interest in allergy comes from my own experience with allergies and asthma and the treatments I received growing up in various parts of the country before finally moving here in high school and eventually setting up an allergy practice 20 years ago.”
He believes patient involvement in the determination of a treatment plan is more likely to lead to a positive outcome.
“My philosophy in treating is to try to create a partnership with my patients where we identify the causes of their allergic disease, discuss possible treatment options and then come up with a custom plan of treatment that is both practical for the patient and likely to be effective.”
When not working, Dr. Johnstone enjoys being outdoors playing golf or exercising and spending time with his family.
Dr. Johnstone is a native of South Carolina and Greenville.
“I come from a large family who suffered greatly with allergies growing up. Having seen this first hand, drew my interest to allergies and asthma as a specialty.”
He prides himself and the practice on personalized and compassionate care of the individual patient. His interests include allergy and asthma care as well as evaluation of food allergies.
When Dr. Johnstone is away from the office, he enjoys time with his children and soaking in the sun on the beautiful coast of South Carolina.
