I grew up in Alabama and have always enjoyed living in the South. Medicine was always appealing to me, and after graduating from Birmingham-Southern College, I attended the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. I continued my medical training in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago and then Allergy Immunology training at National Jewish Center in Denver. After receiving my training, I practiced Allergy/Immunology in Colorado for 4 years before moving to the Gulf Coast (where I have practiced for the last 14 years).

My focus in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology came while I was in my residency. I found it particularly exciting to see the relationship of the scientific breakthroughs discovered in the lab, being used to treat patients in a relatively short period of time. Because the immune system is complex and varied, every patient’s experience is unique, thus I am able to customize my treatment for each individual—which I find immensely fulfilling and challenging. I am board-certified in Allergy & Immunology and Internal Medicine, and I am a member of several medical societies including the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the Escambia County Medical Society. I have also participated in a number of Allergy/Immunology clinical research programs and had articles published in a variety of medical publications.

My practice style is collaborative.  The physician-patient relationship is just that…a relationship. As we get to know each other and I learn about the patient’s health and the patient learns about my skills, we build trust and can craft a plan that will bring the patient to a healthier outcome.

After launching my kids in their lives and careers, I find myself enjoying many new interests including traveling, hiking, and painting.
