I would have thought that with the rain we would have had a lower pollen count. Not so!! Yesterday was the second highest count for the season at 617 grains of tree pollen and if you add the 9 count contribution by the weed Plantain we are at a total pollen burden of 626. Not a pollen tsunami just yet.
By the way, there is a video clip from a news broadcast where the term pollen tsunami was somewhat introduced into allergy lore. I can dig that up if there is interest. It is somewhat entertaining.
Total Tree Count - 617 - VERY HIGH
Maple - 480 High
Oak - 69 Moderate
Cedar - 10 Low
Cottonwood - 16 Moderate
Hickory - 17 Moderate (this was a surprise- the last I saw hickory on the counter was 4/22)
Birch -1 Low
Walnut - 3
Ash - 21 Moderate
Total Weed Pollen Count (for that one species of weed) - 9 Low
Plantain - 9 Low
