Dean Firschein, M.D.

I moved to Athens Georgia in 1998. I began my medical training in New York City  where the emergency rooms and physicians offices were filled with patients suffering from their allergy and asthma.  Patients were missing work or school due to uncontrolled symptoms.   I found that many of these patients lacked clear asthma and allergy care plans but were often treated with multiple medications to temporarily relieve symptoms.
My philosophy is to work with the patients and their families to develop effective and practical treatment plans that allow them to take control of their Asthma and Allergies  allowing them to enjoy a normal lifestyle.  Through my training in the field of allergy and immunology I can offer many alternatives to  control symptoms such as education and immunotherapy.
When I am not working , I get to the enjoy hiking and photographing  the mountains of North Georgia and North Carolina as well as  following the UGA Bulldogs.
